Bhubaneswar: Police arrested two persons for creating ruckus and pelting eggs during BJP’s Jan Sampark Yatra of Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi here.
The accused are residents of Science Park slum in the city.
Sarangi was in Nayapalli to attend a function of senior citizens as part of the Jan Sampark Yatra when some persons laid siege to the area and raised slogans against rise in LPG prices and essential commodities. Stones and eggs were also pelted while the function was going on.
The national spokesperson of BJP had to take shelter in the house of a senior citizen at Acharya Vihar for over three hours till around 11 pm. Later, she was safely rescued from the place by Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Das.
Police filed a suo motu case in connection with the incident and arrested two persons for pelting eggs and creating a ruckus during the MP’s programme.
