Keonjhar: Two female elephants were electrocuted after coming in contact with a live electric wire inside Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Judia under Keonjhar Sadar range in the early hours of Thursday.
According to sources, an elephant herd entered the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in search of food. Two among them died after their trunks touched the low-lying electric wire while trying to eat tree branches.
The power supply was disconnected as Forest officials reached the spot to ascertain the circumstances under which the pachyderms came in contact with the live wire.
