Nabarangpur: Two persons were going on a bike were killed in a collision with a pick-up van in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Monday.
According to sources, Prasad Bhatara and Rebati Jani of Maidalpur of Maidalpur were going on the bike on some work towards Papadahandi in the afternoon. At Jhadakusumi square under Tumbarla police outpost, they collided head-on with the pick-up van coming from opposite direction.
While Prasad died on the spot in the collision, Rebati sustained critical injuries. On being informed by the locals, a team from Padahandi police station rushed to the spot and sent Rebati in an ambulance to the community health centre (CHC) at Papadahandi. But Rebati succumbed during treatment.
The police have seized the pick-up van and detained its driver and helper. They have registered a case and started investigation, the sources said.
