Mayurbhanj/Angul: Two persons were killed while another suffered grievous injuries in two separate road accidents in Mayurbhanj and Angul districts on Sunday.
A woman died while her husband was grievously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a dumper truck at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district. The injured was rescued by some locals and admitted to a local hospital.
In Angul, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a speeding truck on National Highway-55 near Banrapala police station. The deceased identified as Kaibalya Sahu (65) of Apartipur village was crossing the road at the time of the accident.
Peeved over the incident, some irate locals staged blockade near the accident spot demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation to the family of deceased.
