Bhubaneswar: Two more vehicles of Satyajit Managovind Samal, who was arrested for allegedly duping several women on the pretext of marriage, have been seized from Koraput, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh informed on Sunday.
The accused had lent out these vehicles to a travel agency there, he said.
The 34-year-old man from Jajpur district was allegedly wooing 49 women on a matrimonial site under different identities. He duped a working professional of Rs 36 lakh (27 lakh cash and Maruti Baleno worth Rs 8.15 lakh) and took Rs 8.60 lakh and a Royal Enfield Interceptor bike worth Rs 3.50 lakh from another woman in Bhubaneswar.
“The focus of the investigation is on the women victims and the money he took from them. Accordingly, the digital devices seized are being examined. We have so far contacted 11 women with whom he was in touch. We will also seek data from all matrimonial sites on him,” he said.
The DCP said that Whatsapp conversation as well as chats on a matrimonial site revealed that he had demanded Rs 40,000 and a loan for purchasing a vehicle. “The accused impersonated as a pilot of Riyadh Air, sales manager at Costa Coffee, Saudi Arab, CBI inspector and inspector Rahul of Delhi Crime Branch,” he said.
Stating that police are expecting to get his account details in a day or two, Singh said that further investigation is underway to ascertain if he owned any landed property. “We want to give justice to all the duped women,” he added.

The Commissionerate Police trapped Samal through an operation, ‘Dulhe Raja’, in which a woman police officer, acting as a ‘prospective bride’, compelled him to return to Bhubaneswar from Dubai, where he used to flee after duping his victims.
Investigation also revealed he had married two other women based out of Kolkata and New Delhi and had taken one car each from them. He then rented out those cars to travel agencies and made easy money. Marriage certificates were also recovered from the two women.
Samal, a graduate, told police that he was employed with Starbucks in Dubai. Earlier, one car and a motorcycle, a gun, Rs 2.10 lakh cash and other articles were seized from him.
