Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,389 on Friday with three more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to Health & Family Welfare Department, two deaths are from Bhubaneswar and one from Ganjam.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1. A 87 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and Coronary Artery Disease.
2. A 77 years old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Hypothyroidism, Morbid Obesity & Chronic Kidney Disease.
3. A 84 years old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Carcinoma prostate, Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension
Odisha has reported 6,504 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 134 casualties in the state in October and 346 in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 46 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
