Bhubaneswar: The Special Crime Unit of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police on Tuesday arrested two drug peddlers and seized brown sugar, weighing 400 gram, from Pahala area, on the outskirts of Odisha capital.
The accused have been identified as Siba Prasad Das and Jagabandhu Das.
Commissioner of Police Sanjeeb Panda said that initial inquiry revealed the duo had procured the brown sugar from Khurda and intended to sell it in Bhubaneswar. “Further investigation is on to ascertain their criminal antecedents and procurement source,” he said, adding that enforcement against drugs is a top priority for them.
