New Delhi: Five people are feared to be trapped under debris after a two-storeyed building collapsed in south Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar area on Thursday evening.
The police control room received a call at 4.24 pm that two floors of a building had collapsed at J Block, DDA Market, and five people were trapped.
“However, the exact number of people trapped is yet to be ascertained. Staff from Delhi Fire Services (DFS) and Delhi Police are at the site and rescue operation is underway,” said a police officer.
ANI quoted a DFS official as saying that one person has been rescued after a portion of an under-construction building collapsed near Nanki Public School in Dakshinpuri.
Five fire tenders were rushed to the site, and search operation is ongoing.
