Cuttack: The 3-day FIBA U-18 Asian Championship SABA qualifiers got underway at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here on Thursday with Odisha’s Sports minister Tusharkanti Behera inaugurating the meet featuring hosts India, Bangladesh and Maldives.
In the first match, Bangladesh set a scorching pace to outplay Maldives 64-37 after leading 30-16 at the halfway stage. Md Manik Hasan scored 23 points for the winners.
India will face Maldives on June 3 and Bangladesh on June 4.
