Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the admission of the Under Graduate (UG) students in the Delhi University, the Odisha government has requested the Ministry of Education to allow more time for the students of Odisha.
In a letter to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Friday, School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said the Delhi University has fixed August 31 as the last date of submission/uploading of Higher Secondary mark sheet for UG admission.
Dash said in spite of the sincere efforts by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, the results of Class XII of Arts stream could not be published due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Stating that the results of Plus II Arts stream will be declared by the first week of September, Dash said many meritorious students of the state will not be able to submit the mark sheet by August 31 if the last date is not extended.
The state minister requested the HRD minister to intervene in the matter and instruct the Delhi University for extension of the last date for submission of the Higher Secondary mark sheet by one week to September 7.
