New Delhi: The United Nations General Assembly will hold a special session from December 3-4 in New York emphasising on international coordination in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The leaders of the countries have to send five-minute pre-recorded statements to be broadcast in the General Assembly Hall. The meeting will thus draw together heads of state and government as per a resolution adopted by 150 of the 193 General Assembly members, news agency AFP reported.
While no country opposed the measure, the United States, Israel and Armenia abstained.
