Sambalpur: Panic spread in Ainthapali area of Odisha’s Sambalpur city following a bomb scare after locals expressed suspicion over an unclaimed box found near a shop.
According to sources, the incident took place on Sunday evening near a shop in the Ainthapali police station area. A large box had been left unattended, and no one had come to claim it for quite some time.
This caused concern among local residents, who suspected it might contain explosives.
On being informed, a police team reached the site and the bomb disposal squad was also called.
However, after thoroughly inspecting the box, the bomb disposal squad did not find any dangerous substance inside. Some garments and articles of daily use were found inside the box, sources said
Traffic also came to a halt, leaving people stranded for over half an hour. After a few hours, things returned to normal, but the incident caused a tense atmosphere and significant traffic delays.
