Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay on Thursday said that the commissionerate police will set up a unified control room (UCR) in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for effective crime control as well as safety and security.
The DGP was speaking at the 12th foundation day celebration of the commissionerate police in the city.
Odisha Police are working hard to provide timely service to the people, Abhay said at the function held on the premises of the 7th Battalion.
He also said that under the state government’s Mo Sarkar programme, Odisha Police have received encouraging feedback from the people.
Launching a new Special Police Officers (SPO) unit comprising 300 female police officers, the DGP said that priority will be given to women’s safety and security.
Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said that the commissionerate police headquarters will be named as Police Seva Bhawan.
