Bhubaneswar: Union Petroleum and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has donated his one year’s salary to chancellor of universities and Governor of Odisha Prof Ganeshi Lal.
The minister made the donation for development of infrastructure and welfare of the students and faculty of the Utkal University.
Himself a former student of the prestigious university, Pradhan had mooted a proposal for setting up an alumni donation fund to be used for the development of the university while attending an alumni meet in 2019.
In a tweet, the Governor congratulated the Union Minister for his gesture of benevolence towards his alma mater by donating a year’s salary.
