Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department on Friday directed all state universities and degree colleges to take steps so that hostels and residential facilities for students can be reopened from February 6.

The order came after the Odisha government on Thursday announced the reopening of schools, colleges and other educational institutions from February 7.

The department has asked state universities and degree colleges to take all necessary steps for holding of physical classes from February 7 by following COVID-19 norms.

Colleges and technical institutes will reopen from February 7. Short-term training and skill development training centres will also reopen on this day.

All public universities and degree colleges in Odisha under the state Higher Education Department are already functioning at full strength of employees from February 1 by following COVID-appropriate behaviour.
