Lucknow: Lucknow: Family members allegedly set an unmarried woman on fire after finding out that she had become pregnant, police said on Friday.
The incident took place in Nawada Khurd village, in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur.
The woman’s mother and brother took her to a nearby forest, where they sprinkled petrol on her and tried to burn her alive on Thursday.
The victim suffered 70 per cent burn injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
