Bhubaneswar: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a strong note of an error in national anthem in a school textbook and issued notice to three officials in this regard.
As per reports, the words, “Utkal (present Odisha and Banga (West Bengal)’, are missing in the national anthem published in the Hindi textbook ‘Vatika 5’ for Class V of government-run primary schools in the state. The books were distributed in Kaushambhi.
The Textbook Officer of the UP Basic Education department, Shyam Kishore Tiwari, has issued notice to Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Mathura Deewan Singh Yadav and divisional education assistant director, Basic, Agra, Mahesh Chandra. The two officials were responsible for checking the book for printing errors before publication and distribution among the students.
BSA, Kaushambhi, Prakash Singh, has also issued a show-cause notice to the publisher who has been asked to replace all copies of the book which have the anomaly.
