Rayagada: Coaches of Howrah-Jagdalpur Samaleswari Express, whose engine had derailed near Rayagada on Friday afternoon, were brought back to Singapur Road station at 8.05 PM.
The incident took place around 5.16 pm when the train was on its way to Jagdalpur.
According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources,
Earlier talking to the media, ECoR chief public relations officer (CPRO) J P Mishra had confirmed that the two front wheels of the engine had derailed while all the bogies of the express train are on the track. “There is no loss of life,” he added.
Besides, an incident of uncoupling of a goods train was reported between Sikir and Titlagarh stations. The ECoR sources said the loco pilot coupled the wagons and the train then left for Titlagarh.
