Bhubaneswar: Various youth and OBC category organisations on Monday announced to extend support to the nationwide bandh called by some groups on social media against caste-based reservation in jobs and education on April 10.
The members of Rudra Narayan Sena, a youth organisation, has requested Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Kumar Sahu to take sufficient precautions to avoid any kind of unexpected circumstances as different other youth organisations, general and OBC category organisations have decided to join them for supporting the cause of Bharat bandh.
However, Odisha government has not announced closure of any of the educational institutions in the state.
The Centre has issued an advisory to all the states of the country to beef up security and initiate all precautionary measures to in view of bandh.
The magistrates and SPs will be personally held responsible for any kind of violence in their area of jurisdiction.
The advisory came after the Bharat bandh called by different Dalit groups against alleged dilution of (SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities) Act on April 2 witnessed several violent protests across the country.
