Cuttack: Actress Varsha Priyadarshini has filed a fresh case against her husband, actor and MP Anubhav Mohanty at the Court of SDJM in Odisha’s Cuttack.
The case has been registered under Sections 506, 509, 501 of the IPC and Section 67 of the IT Act.
She alleged that several social media posts by Anubhav have tarnished her image, are derogatory and disrespectful.
She had earlier filed a complaint with cyber police in Cuttack also. She had also lodged a complaint against Anubhav and his family at Purighat police station accusing them of assassinating her character. She had objected to the videos being released on social media by the actor, having “unpalatable statements, which are defamatory in nature and aim at character assassination” even as the matter is sub-judice.
The Orissa High Court has restrained both Anubhav and Varsha from posting anything on social media against each other.
Pronouncing its verdict on a plea by Anubhav last week, the SDJM court directed Varsha to vacate his parental house at Nandi Sahi in Cuttack. Varsha has to leave the house within two months of receiving the first two financial assistance from Anubhav, the court said.
Anubhav has been asked to pay Rs 30,000 to Varsha on/before the 10th of every month for her accommodation.
