Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday said that the cremation of veteran Odia actor Mihir Das will be held with state honours.
The actor had breathed his last earlier in the evening while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack. He was 63.
Naveen said that he was an icon of Odia Cine World, who inspired thousands to build a career in acting. He also conveyed his deep sympathy to his family members.
Notably, the actor had been undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments at the hospital since December 7. He was put on ventilator support two days later after his condition became critical.
On December 10, his son Amlan Das had informed the media that he was responding well to the treatment.
