Lucknow: As many as 40 doctors of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) here, including vice-chancellor Lt Gen (retd) Vipin Puri, tested positive for COVID-19.
This is the second time since August 2020 that the vice-chancellor has been infected by the deadly virus. Puri was administered the second dose of the vaccine on March 25.
“During the last four days, around 40 doctors, including medical superintendent Himanshu, have tested positive,” KGMU’s Sandeep Tewari said.
Most of the doctors have tested positive despite taking both the jabs of the COVID vaccine.
As many as 1,188 people tested positive for COVID-19 here on Tuesday.
