Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths have arrested two police officers for allegedly taking bribe in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.
The Vigilance officials received a complaint that Raghunath Hansda, probationary sub-inspector (PSI) and Siba Prasad Dalei, ASI of Papadahandi police station in the district were demanding Rs 4,000 as bribe to release the complainant’s
Following the complaint, the Vigilance set a trap and the complainant went to the police station to give the bribe. While the PSI was accepting the bribe money from the complainant on the instruction of the ASI, the Vigilance team nabbed them. The entire tainted bribe money was recovered and seized from their possession.
Following the trap, the Vigilance conducted simultaneous searches on the places linked to Hansda at two locations and two locations of Dalei from DA angle.
Koraput Vigilance has registered a case under PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 in this connection and started further investigation.
