Keonjhar: Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Maheshwara Sethi, SDO (Electrical) of TPNODL in the district in a disproportionate assets case.
Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids on the properties of Sethi, SDO (Electrical), Meter Relay Testing of TP North Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPNODL) at five places in the district on Tuesday.
During the raids, Sethi was found in possession of two double-storey buildings in Keonjhar district, 4 plots including 3 in Keonjhar town and one plot at Ghatagaon, Keonjhar, 3 two-wheelers, bank deposits over Rs 24.63 Lakh, insurance deposits over Rs 24 lakh and other movable and immovable properties, totalling over Rs 2.57
crore.
After search, inventory and further enquiry, the assets of Sethy was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to
the tune of Rs 2,13,22,084.
As Sethy could not account for the properties satisfactorily, Vigilance registered a case and arrested him. Later, he was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar which remanded him to judicial custody till October 5.
