Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested an Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP) sepoy for possessing disproportionate assets (DA) worth nearly Rs 1.39 crore, which is 233 per cent over his known sources of income.
The properties of Sahadev Parida, a Sepoy with Sixth Battalion, OSAP, Cuttack, were raided by Vigilance on Tuesday.
Parida was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack, which remanded him in judicial custody till December 21. A case has been registered against him and his wife.
The raids were conducted at the following places:
* Official residential quarters at 6th OSAP
* Three-storey building at Tinigharia Chhak, Cuttack
* Asbestos house at Gandarpur, Cuttack
* Parental house at Chandanpur, Puri
* Father-in-law’s house at Malatipatpur, Puri
