Nabarangpur: Vigilance has apprehended a Forest Guard with more than Rs 1.5 lakh unaccounted cash in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district.
Based on reliable information, Vigilance officials intercepted Binayak Sori, Forest Guard of Nandahandi Beat and In-charge of Jagannathpur Beat in DFO office in Nabarangpur while he was going on a motorcycle from Khatiguda to Jagannathpur near Kapur dam of Indrabati project.
During search, the Vigilance sleuths found suspected ill-gotten cash of cash Rs 1.53 lakh in his possession.
As Sori could not account for the money satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized. Following the interception, the Vigilance carried out house search at one location of Sori from DA angle.
Vigilance was also questioning Sori to ascertain the source of money.
