Jodhpur: A lab attendant in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur reportedly conducted an ECG scan on a patient in a government hospital in Jodhpur’s Pawta area. after watching a YouTube video. Reports claimed that the attendant performed the scan due to a lack of hospital staff. A purported video of the incident has gone viral on the internet. However, OdishaBytes couldn’t verify the authenticity of the video independently.
The administration has initiated an inquiry into the incident, the India TV reported. In the video, the family members of the patient are heard arguing that performing the scan without proper knowledge could put the patient at risk. But, the attendant replies that he has no other option.
The helper can be heard saying that the lab technician is on leave. He is even heard assuring that everything has been installed properly and the machine will do the needful.
Necessary action would be taken after inquiry, Principal BS Jodha of the attached medical college told India TV.
