Centurion: Ending the series on a high note, skipper Virat Kohli scored his 35th century as India crushed South Africa by eight wickets to win the ODI series by a comprehensive 5-1 margin, at Centurion. This is India’s first ever series win on South African soil.
Virat scored 129 off 96 balls, his third hundred in the series, as India reached the target of 205 in only 32.1 overs. With this, the skipper became the fastest to 9500 ODI runs completing the feat in only 200 innings.
In bowling, Shardul Thakur clinched four wickets for India. While Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took one each.
