Mumbai: Buoyed by the success of ‘The Kashmir Files’ last year, director Vivek Agnihotri announced his next project, ‘The Vaccine War’.
The film, which pays tribute to the dedication of the medical fraternity and scientists during the tough and uncertain times of COVID-19 pandemic, was supposed to be released on August 15, 2023.
It has now emerged that the release of the film, starring veteran Nana Patekar, has been postponed.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, citing reliable sources, tweeted that ‘The Vaccine War’ will now hit theatres during Dussehra this year.
Taran further informed that Agnihotri and his producer-wife Pallavi Joshi are currently giving finishing touches to ‘The Vaccine War’.
“A few days’ shoot is yet to be executed… besides the duo has plans of organising pre-release screenings of the film in USA before it hits cinemas in India. That explains the shift to Dussehra 2023,” Taran posted.
The film will be released in 11 languages — Hindi, English, Bangla, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Marathi.
The first-look poster of ‘The Vaccine War’ featured the tagline ‘A war you didn’t know you fought. And won’.
