Mumbai: For those who love to shop online, here’s a warning!
Mumbai Police has busted a fake online shopping racket and released a list of fake shopping websites.
It’s run by an IT professional from Gujarat, who uses the fake websites to sell household items. The 32-year-old has allegedly cheated over 22,000 people of more than Rs 70 lakh.
“Don’t fall in the dark web of fake sites,” Mumbai Police warned.
Online shopping has been a growing trend, especially among the youth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the online market grew manifold with almost everything being ordered from home following the national lockdown.
