New York: One person was killed, and six others were injured in an incident of mass shooting at a park in New York’s Rochester city on Sunday, according to media reports.
While one of the injured was in a life-threatening condition, other five suffered minor injuries. Authorities stated that the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to reports, a heavy volley of gunfire disrupted a gathering in the park. The crowd got scattered in panic. The authorities have not yet disclosed the information about victims and the shooting in details.
Rochester Police Department Captain, Greg Bello, informed reporters that police responded to Maplewood Park around 6:20 pm after receiving reports of shots being fired during a large gathering, stated a NDTV report. Cops found several people suffering from gunshot wounds on the spot.
“At this point, we don’t know how many people were shooting. We are trying to work our way through that. We are trying to work our way through as many witnesses as we can,” Greg said, as quoted by the New York Post.
