Bhubaneswar: There are 11 active coronavirus positive cases in the Odisha capital and nine among them have either returned from other states or have travel history.
Informing the media on Wednesday. Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said that people in 30-35 houses in the neighbourhood of these case are quarantined at home and every day house-to-house survey are being conducted. Tests are being conducted if anyone is found with COVID-19 symptoms, he said.
Stating that passive surveillance is still on, he said 300 to 400 tests are being conducted daily.
He further said that 2188 people had returned to the city after registering with the state government. Among them, 1297 are in home quarantine and 56 at institutional quarantine centres.
Over 300 people have completed government quarantine period, he said.
There are no containment zones in the city, he added.
On opening of parks in the city, he said that separate time slot have been allotted for the elderly (60 years and above) since they belong to the vulnerable category.
