Jajpur: As part of its ongoing vaccination drive to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the Odisha government has stepped up the vaccination of the tribals in remote and inaccessible areas.
In a joint campaign by the Health Department of Jajpur district and the Community Health Centre (CHC), Sukinda, the vaccination of the tribals living in the forested hills of the district was conducted on Monday.
A total of 65 Juang tribals of Tala Nagada and Upara Nagada village, 56 of Guhiasala village and 38 of Tumni village and two from Naliadabar village were given the first dose of vaccine.
Apart from this, 16 government employees of different departments of the district working in these tribals area also received the first jab.
A week before the vaccination, ASHA and Anganwadi workers had conducted a house-to-house awareness campaign in these tribal villages on the directive of the district collector.
