Mumbai: The trailer of ‘Thar’ is out. And fans can’t wait to see Anil Kapoor face off against his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor in the desi western thriller.
Anil himself shared the trailer on social media, which was released by Netflix India on YouTube.
The film, which also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Satish Kaushik, will drop in Netflix on May 6. But the trailer itself has whetted the appetite of fans.
“This looks good. Can’t wait to see you together,” one user wrote.
Another commented: “This looks fire. Anil sir is getting better.”
The synopsis of the film reads: “In the heart of the unforgiving desert, come join as a violent tale of retribution unfolds with Netflix’s Thar.”
The directorial debut of Raj Singh Chaudhary, Thar is produced by Anil Kapoor Film Company (AKFC). The dialogues have been penned by Raj and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
This is not the first time senior and junior Kapoor will be working in the same film.
In AK vs AK, released last year, they both played fictionalised versions of themselves.
Harsh had a cameo in that movie, so Thar marks the first time father and son are essaying full-length roles.
Asked about working with his son, Anil said, “I love working with young and new talent and with Thar bringing on board young actors and filmmakers, it gives me a completely different perspective on films.”
