Bhubaneswar: A native of Odisha, residing in Singapore, has appealed to the IndiGo authorities to arrange for an emergency ticket for her brother to travel from either Chennai or Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar to attend to their father admitted to the ICU of the AMRI Hospitals here.
In a video message uploaded on Twitter, the woman, identified herself as Manisha, and said that unfortunately she won’t be able to travel to Bhubaneswar because of the restrictions on international flights. “My brother is in Chennai, but he is unable to get a ticket for Bhubaneswar. Though he has managed to get a ticket till Hyderabad, it will be of no use if he fails to get the connecting flight to Bhubaneswar,” she said.
Making a fervent appeal to the airline, Manisha said that her aged mother is all alone there. “My relatives are unable to reach her because of the COVID-19 lockdown and she has nothing to eat,” she said.
The Civil Aviation Ministry had suspended flight services from Tuesday midnight in view of the coronavirus outbreak. All airlines have been asked to reach their destinations before 23.59 hours on March 24.
