Berhampur: Throwing COVID-19 protocols to the winds, hundreds of women took part in a ‘Kalash Yatra’ in Ganjam district on Tuesday.
The incident came to light after videos of the women walking in a procession without wearing face masks and evading social distancing norms went viral on social media.
Following this, district administration officials rushed to the spot to disperse the crowd and imposed Section 144 of CrPC in the area.
Meanwhile, several people have raised questions as to how such a gross violation could take place during the COVID crisis without the knowledge of law enforcement agencies, India Today reported.
