Bhubaneswar: Rohan Biswal, a 23-year-old paediatrician doing internship in Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital in Odisha capital, earned praises from judges for his rendition of Kaise Hua from the movie ‘Kabir Singh’ during the audition round of Indian Idol Season -14, recently.
His ‘Hit Se Zyada Lit Hai’ performance earned him the ‘golden ticket’ and also a nickname, “Doctor-Singer”, from judges – Shreya Ghoshal, Kumar Shanu, and Vishal Dadlani, who also gave him a standing ovation.
Rohan also introduced a group of children under treatment in his hospital through a video call. Responding to the request of the children, Kumar Sanu sang ‘Humko Sirf Tumse Pyar Hai’ for them.

He later trained in Hindustani Classical music with Guru Debendra Narayan Sathpathy and has also completed Sangeet Visharad in Vocal. “Music is a passion for me. I sing to small children in ward to ease their pain when I administer injections or insert needles to administer them saline or glucose,” he said.
