A heated confrontation erupted between members of two Kabaddi teams during an annual sports event hosted at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur this past Saturday. A video capturing the intense brawl has recently surfaced online, showcasing how the event spiraled into complete chaos. In the viral video, numerous individuals can be seen striking each other and hurling chairs, showcasing the extent of the turmoil.
While the exact cause of the brawl remains unknown, reports suggest that it involved students from Delhi’s Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) and J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology (YMCA).
Adding to the mayhem, a second part of the video emerged, revealing students from both groups grappling with each other and engaging in various forms of combat, effectively transforming the festival into an impromptu wrestling match. Unfortunately, there appeared to be no security personnel present to quell the violence, leading to a situation that quickly spun out of control, prompting even onlookers to flee in an attempt to avoid injury.
As of now, both teams have been disqualified from the competition, but IIT Kanpur has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
