New Delhi: All those nostalgic about the 90s, remember the famous Nirma Super Detergent ad?
The ad is back, this time Karishma Kapoor reprising it to promote credit card management platform Cred.
As in the original ad, Karishma enters a shop dressed in a white sari. The shop, the shopkeeper and the actor, all have the look and feel of the original Nirma ad.
Using lines and mannerisms similar to the original ad, Karishma asks for a phone charger, packed like a Nirma cake.
“Aap toh hamesha regular charger lete the,” the shopkeeper says.
“Leti thi,” she replies, explaining that she has changed her mind as Cred Bounty is offering iPhones.
The original Nirma ad in 1989 featured Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan.
