Sonepur: One foot in front of the other, one mission in mind, a 62-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh is on a padyatra for darshan of Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s Puri.
Kripal Singh, a resident of Tamasha village in Mungaoli Tehsil under Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh, set out on the 1,400 km journey barefoot on July 5. With a single-minded devotion, he hikes 40 to 50 km a day and has crossed Sonepur today morning.
With a small suitcase on his head, a long stick and a polythene sheet in hand, he continues to walk despite rain or shine and hopes to reach the pilgrim city in the next five days. “The bag is packed with a set of clothes and some food items to boost my energy,” said Singh.
On a selfless mission, Singh told OdishaBytes, his goal is to save the world from the scourge of corona and for achieving this he can endure any physical hardship.
