Cuttack: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal recorded for State anthem ‘Bande Utkala Janani’ here on Monday.
The Governor reached Milan Studio here to record the state anthem, the music for which has been composed by music director Prem Anand. The video will be shot at Raj Bhawan in Puri.
Popular female playback singer Deeptirekha also lent her voice to the song.
Speaking to mediapersons, the Governor said, “This is the language of God, of Lord Jagannath, it is very sweet. I also try to learn and understand the language and also read.”
He also had a word of praise for the Prem Anand and wished him more success.
Deeptirekha said, “I am happy to have been given the opportunity to lend my voice for the song sung by Governor.”
Anand said Governor had earlier sung portions of an Odia song ‘Mati Odisha, Jati Odisha’ which had become very popular. However, this time he sang a major part of the anthem, said Anand and added that Lal sang Mukhda, Antara and crosslines too effortlessly.
The song will be released on Utkal Divas.
