Bhubaneswar: A day after an intimate wedding at a private resort near Pipili, Junagarh BJD MLA and former minister Dibya Shankar Mishra and his Priyanka Agasti on Monday visited Jagannath Temple in Puri for darshan of the sibling deities as is a tradition in Odisha.
According to sources, the newly-wed spent around 1 hours inside the 12th-century shrine and also had Mahaprasad at Anand Bazaar.
On Sunday, the duo exchanged rings during the day while the wedding took place in the afternoon as per Hindu rituals in presence of close friends and relatives. A software engineer, Priyanka is the daughter of Bhabani Agasti of Dekota village under Golamunda block of the constituency in Odisha’s Kalahandi district. According to her social media profile, she is working with Tata Power as Senior Lead Engineer.
This is the second marriage of both Dibya Shankar and Priyanka. The ex-IAF personnel-turned- Junagarh MLA was earlier married in Jaipatna and later divorced his first wife. His son from the previous marriage is reportedly studying in Dubai.
Dibya Shankar earlier served as the minister of state (MoS) in the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government in the state. He was in the eye of a storm in 2021 over alleged close links with the main accused in the Kalahandi district lady teacher murder case and lost his job when Naveen revamped the council of ministers and dropped 11 controversial ministers.
