Mumbai: Months after the release of the web series Mirzapur season 3, Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment on Monday announced a theatrical movie, Mirzapur The Film, based on the much-loved Amazon Prime original crime thriller.
Created by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmmeet Singh, Mirzapur, which explores power dynamics and the criminal underworld in the heartland of northern India, is set for a theatrical debut in 2026. It will mark the return of the show’s principal cast, including Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit along with Abhishek Banerjee who will play his role as the compounder.
It will also feature Munna Bhaiyya played by Divyenndu, who gave the third season a miss.
Announcing the news, Excel Entertainment shared a post on his Instagram feed. It read, “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi. #MirzapurTheFilm, coming soon.” Take a look:

Over the course of three successful seasons, this acclaimed franchise has struck all the right chords with fans through its powerful storytelling and memorable characters – from the likes of Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya, to name a few,” producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment said.
The first season was released in November 2018 and the second season in October 2020. The third season of the show was released in July 2024.
