Mathura: Restoration work is under process after at least 25 wagons of a goods train carrying coal derailed near Vrindavan Road station in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday around 8 pm. None has been injured in the incident, officials said.
According to reports, CPRO of the NCR Railway Zone said the derailment had blocked three rail lines, leading to train traffic disruption on Mathura-Palwal route.
“Work is underway to move the derailed wagons. JCB, Cranes and all officers are on duty…We have to start the movement on the down line,” said Mathura station director, SK Srivastava, in an interview to the ANI.
The train had departed from Agra and was headed towards Delhi. The incident has once again irked social media users, who crticized Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the repeated accidents on the tracks. One user on X claimed that at least 50 accidents had occurred between 2023 and 2024, claiming lives of about 320 people.
