Bhubaneswar: Veteran musician and sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The maestro, who made a courtesy call at CM’s residence, Naveen Niwas, had a brief interaction with the Chief Minister, sources said.
The eminent musician was in Odisha capital to perform at Vrindaban Mahotsav 2023. The music concert is organised every year during Holi by Odisha government in association with Vrindaban Gurukul Trust of internationally acclaimed flutist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.
Naveen, who happens to be a lover of music, also presented Hockey India’s jersey to Amjad Ali Khan wishing him more success in his future endeavor.
Amjad Ali Khan presented a copy of his book ‘Master on Masters’ to the Chief Minister. In the book, the maestro has written about the lives and times of some of the greatest icons of Indian classical music.
