Rayagada: A little chariot rolled on the by-lanes of Brahman Sahi in Odisha’s Rayagada with people chanting ‘Jai Jagannath’. All the rituals and nitees of Rath Yatra were performed on the lines of Puri Jagannath temple by Class IX boy of the area.
The devotion of Debashis Das for ‘Kaalia’ was such that he decided to design Nandishosha Rath last year after the ban on devotees to Puri Bada Danda to witness the Rath Yatra due to COVID.
Speaking to OdishaBytes Debashis said he built a small chariot and performed all rituals starting with the Lord’s Snana Purnima to Anasara nitee and the Rath Yatra, Bahuda as well as the Suna Besha.
“It took me two months to build the chariot. I followed all the rules to construct the chariot like the number of timber used, wheels and Parasaba Debata as well as the horses,” said Debashis.
Debashish hopes to visit Puri once the COVID lockdown ends.
