Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department has forecast moderate rainfall activity in some districts of Odisha on February 3-4 under the influence of an approaching western disturbance.
Isolated thunderstorm accompanied by hail is also likely in some districts of the state during this period, it said, adding that rainfall activity will decrease thereafter.

According to SOA’s Center for Environment and Climate (CEC), western Odisha districts may experience thunderstorm accompanied by hail and lightning on the afternoon and night of February 3 under the influence of western disturbance, which is likely to impact the state between February 3 and 5. One or two places in Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Balangir, Boudh and Sundargarh may receive heavy precipitation on February 3, it said.
Some of the north Odisha districts are likely to experience similar weather conditions on February 4, it added.
The CEC bulletin further said that the night temperature is likely to rise gradually by 3 to 5 degrees Celcius from February 2. The days are likely to be hotter and nights are expected to remain comparatively cooler during February.
