New Delhi: A Delhi-based businessman, who visits Punjab regularly for work didn’t know what was in store for him when extended a helping hand to a Mohali couple, who were seeking employment from him. As the businessman tried to help the man, he allegedly asked for the car and fled with it.
Police in Kharar lodged an FIR against the Mohali-based couple over a complaint filed by the Chandni Chowk resident, Anwar Hashmi, The Indian Express reported. The businessman said that whenever he visits Mohali, he puts up at Hotel Centra. This is where he met a woman named ‘Elizabeth’.

Later, Puneet contacted Hashmi on October 6 and said his wife was extremely unwell and he needed his car to take her to the hospital. The Delhi man has alleged that he agreed to help the couple and handed over his car. However, soon after, Puneet stopped picking his calls and switched off his phone.
He further alleged that the couple fled with his car and switched off both their phones. The report said police have booked the couple for cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy, The Indian Express reported.
