New Delhi: Sunny Deol’s son and Dharmendra’s grandson, Karan Deol is getting married in June. The engagement took place a few months back in a low-key ceremony on his grandparents, Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur’s anniversary. Although Karan has not yet revealed the identity of his partner yet, according to a new media report, the girl in his life is Drisha Acharya.
She is not in films but belongs to a filmy family. According to reports, Drisha Acharya is the great-granddaughter of acclaimed filmmaker Bimal Roy. She is reportedly based in Dubai and works as a manager at a travel agency. “It’s a classic case of childhood romance,” a source close to the couple told Hindustan Times, adding, “Yes, an engagement did take place. Drisha is in Mumbai and the couple will soon make their official announcement. The idea is to do a public appearance.” She is the granddaughter of Bimal Roy’s daughter, Rinki Bhattacharya, who was married to filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya. Her mother, Chimoo B. Acharya, who moved to Dubai in 1998, is a former advertising executive and promoter of one of the Middle East’s event management companies.
Karan Deol made his Bollywood debut in 2019 with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. It was written and directed by Sunny Deol and produced by Sunny Sounds Pvt Ltd and Zee Studios. He will next be seen in Apne 2, also starring his family members, including grandfather Dharmendra and uncle Bobby Deol.
