PV Sindhu may not have peaked yet. India’s first female sportsperson with two Olympic medals, the shuttler from Hyderabad will be driven by the desire to fulfil her golden dream at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The bronze-medallist at the recent Tokyo Games and silver winner at Rio 2016, however, is already looking to open an academy.
The badminton star said on Friday that she will start a training academy for the youth in Visakhapatnam.
“I’ll start a training academy at Visakhapatnam very soon for the youth with the state government’s support. Many youths are lagging in sports as they don’t have proper encouragement,” Sindhu said after visiting Tirumala temple on Friday.
Sindhu, who overcame China’s He Bing Jiao to claim bronze at Tokyo, made it clear that she wants to continue playing.
Sindhu has made it clear that she will not be resting on past laurels and is already looking to give her best at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She said she is enjoying herself and wants to keep improving.
“Currently, I’m enjoying the moment and cherishing it… I will definitely play Paris (2024 Olympics) and give my best shot. We have a lot of time,” she told ANI.
